Well thank you Eric, considering the source, I consider that a huge compliment and will make a mental note of it for future reference.....

I think Winspear and Randy Turner was the last great diamond play that we can think of in terms of "being there while it was happening" everything else going on these days seems to be be once or twice removed from the everyday, joe sixpack, amature rock hound kinda guy.

Frank does a wonderful job of trying to keep Ashton alive in the minds of the players but it is just not the same, no fervor, no Geo Tromp expounding his views, no RCMP stories of running down the "Salters" in some Dawson or Whitehorse saloon....no talk of visible diamond in core.....no Walt Humphries explaining the Ice Road to us from Yellowknife....or Vaughn analytically dissecting SouthernEras every move for us....

Maybe Eric Friedland and Arty Ettlinger can get something going with a rebirth of the DHK thing...wouldn't that be something......

Oh I long for the old days, I must be a hopeless romantic.....
