Thanks.

I was against the Vietnam War, and only started to wonder---- which is not the same as being "pro"--- after the fall of Saigon, the panic, the re- education camps, the boat people, Pol Pot in Cambodia, and so forth. Things happen, they affect one's view. I have not made up my mind, but at least I know, unlike some of these guys, that we were defeating the Viet Cong, which is why North Vietnam invaded in support of the insurgency during the Tet Offensive. Therefore, I know that we can defeat this insurgency, whether it will be accomplished or not---- and there is no North Vietnam waiting in the wings. The whole "Vietnam" analogy was always bogus. Opponents would better have emphasized the viciousness and fanaticism of the jihadists, as a novel element which might be too daunting. But that would have required thought, not a knee jerk reaction.
