The Americanization of China
joezhang Updated: 2005-01-07 16:39

With the development in economy and society of China, the living condition and the living style are all becoming Americanization.More and more Chinese want to learn English, especially the American English. As a result, more and more people want to study in America. To my surprise,in some provinces of China, more and more children join in the army learning Eglish.Lots of textbooks in English teaching, such as AROUND AMERICA,are sold hottly all over China.

I could not certain if it is good or bad for Americanization of China, but at least we can see that more and more traditional customs of Choina have been replaced by American style. For example, more and more Chinese, especially almost all youngsters, have forgotten what was our national clothes and festivals, but they can remember the festivals from the West clearly, such as Christmas,Thanksgiving.

As far as my concerned,we should ask ourselves whether we are still offsprings of our ancestor. It is high time for Chinese to save their national culture and tradition. There are lots of successful samples for us to study, such as Japan and Korea. In my opinion,we could also improve our developing level in economy by keeping the traditional customs.

Mr. Dengxiaoping had given us the right answer to this question,it is called the characteristic of China, not the Americanization.

Remember!We are Chinese!
