Those who know the region and its culture better have pointed out that it is silly to entertain such fantasies. Change comes very slow, if ever, in those parts of the world. We have already been proven wrong about being showered with flowers as liberators and stuff like that. We expected we could do with 30K troops within a few months' time. And yet, nearly two years later, we have the highest troop levels and are getting killed at the rate of 2 to 3 soldiers every day. To continue to indulge in fantasies in the face of all this is all-advised, to say the least.
