it's to be hoped that the voters can sneak a few threads of democracy into the game.

I think the Pals know that it is going to be "deeds, not words," that work with Bush. The Euros will push, but it won't work this time. It's a real "TWT" situation.

But this administration is more realistic about it than any we have had up to now. It's a shame that the State Dept people involved are made up of graduates from our ME departments.
