By the way, the big commercial short of silver, is a short corner by a group of institutions that was set up as a mechanism for China to dehoard enormous silver stockpiles during the 90's. Russ, I just spent quite a bit of time searching archives on this and I can't find anything. If you don't mind, would you explain why shorts would be necessary to aid china in taking down their silver stockpiles. tia

Interesting, did not know you believed the Ted Butler theory on silver shorting. So far the shorts have been able to flush the longs out every time. But it will not always end that way; long ago I saw 23 successive limit up (.10 at the time) days on the comex. Locked limit up many of those days with no exit, then a chance to accept horrendous losses for a day or 2, then locked limit up again with no exit. I keep some silver jrs all the time, because if/when something like this breaks again it will be tough to build a position.
