So whats so terrible with kurdish democracy and US pushing better turk/kurd relations; a moderate shiaa islamic state in the south as part of the outcome.
What happens in the triangle if we pull out. The coalition between jihadists and local baathist insurgants is fractous at best. Without us, dont they go after each other first? Or if they try to stay united and move against shiaa and kurds, we can feel confident that the latter can defend themselves and the former will have help from us and Iran.
We must get real and return to a less idealistic more real posture in the area. Mike
