My wife's pension plan was recently converted. Not that I knew she even had one, but that's beyond the point.

They will be matching her 401k contributions by an extra 1.5%-2% depending on her tenure at the firm.

Given that we both maximize our contributions at 14,000/year each, we'll both get 6.5% matches on our salaries in total from our respective firms.

Not bad, not great, but I'm not worried since I know how to invest. I can't say that about the rest of my fellow Gen X'ers.
