Nadine -- I am pretty much in the center, although I notice that you on the other hand are so far right that you think the proper role of United States is to put the interests of Israelis first. It must be nice to have a superpower to fight you battles for you.

Well, I think you have clearly established your position on the political spectrum - so far left that everybody is to the right of you. However, it is the majority that gets to make the definitions, not the fringes.

But, seriously, Saddam's danger was in his potential for destabilizing a region which was becoming even more important to us and even more unstable.

Unfortunately, the post-war has not been what I would like to see it. As the case in Vietnam, history will show that we are a lot better off militarily in Iraq than the common wisdom suggests. Whether we have the will to remain and do what needs to be done is up in the air.
