"...Stilwell's devious criticism.." Yep, Stillwell knew Chiang's gang was corrupt and a loser, and therefore told US who the winner would be. US sent supplies to Chiang, the corrupt loser, because Mme Chiang (US educated and spoke English) went on campaign in US and got the contribution and support from US Congress as well as American people. Such a beggar for the corrupt gang. US has a history of siding, abetting, raising and grooming corrupt dictators and many eventual losers. In China's case, it would have been far greater disaster if Chiang had prevailed. Of course most people can't see it, too shallow and devoid of any perspective. No doubt there are many people who have utmost high regards for Marcos, Suharto, Saddam, and your family's beloved Nippon Imperials, etc.
