re: Friedman a Hawk?... Friedman is as liberal as anybody with some brains could become.

Conservative/Republican/hawk and Liberal/Democrat/anti-war? That's political not issue-based thinking.

The traditional conservative is against nation building, is semi-isolationist. The liberals have traditionally been the nation builders.

The thinking about this war is about to move beyond political labels. You can smell it. This ill-conceived war is an abysmal failure on every level, and that fact is starting to sink in to the consciousness of anyone with even a small bit of intelligence. Regardless of labels.

About three weeks to the Iraqi elections. If the elections and the aftermath break bad, as I expect, then it will be hard to find anyone that supports this war.

Come on Ted, Friedman a Hawk? What a joke!!! If he is a hawk you are a good old commie.

Friedman is as liberal as anybody with some brains could become.

I am not talking conservatives vs liberals. I am talking hawks vs doves. There is a difference.

Friedman has been a hawk since the war began. Most liberals have brains and knew better. Apparently, Friedman is the exception to the rule.
