High oil prices are very good for Bush.

High oil prices dampen US and world economic development, which impacts how US voters view Bush & Co. Even if Bush is freed from the voters now that he is reelected, his party must still be concerned with how oil prices play out over the next four years. If the net effect of Gulf II is continued instability in Iraq and high world oil prices, it will clearly rank as a spectacular failure.

With some luck, the Pals will have at least a one month honeymoon with democracy, potentially encouraging the Iraqis to give it an honest shot. I hope so anyway.
