so long as you actually believe this you will never make any serious attempt to live in peace. If that is the case then Israel does not deserve US support because it is not serious about achieving peace.

Of course it is true, the Arabs say so, day in, day out. The charters of Fatah and Hamas specify their goals: the destruction of Israel and the total liberation of Palestine.

The Arab governments feed their populations a diet of Nazi level anti-semitism. On every Arab bookstall, you can find copies of Mein Kampf and the Protocols of the Elders of Zion, which they teach as history. The Egyptians just made a prime-time miniseries out of the Protocols. The Syrians just made a movie out of it. An Egyptian government controlled paper just blamed an Israeli nuclear test for the Dec 26 tsunami! Not to be outdone, the Iranians just produced a TV program that showed the Israelis stealing the eyeballs from Palestinian teenagers for use in translants!

Can anybody, even you, be so completely, totally ignorant of the Mideast that you don't know this? that you can just dismiss it all as "well Israel isn't serious about peace"? Israel wants peace very, very badly. It would never have tried the Oslo Accords if it hadn't.

But Israel wants to live. The Arabs have spent fifty years being willing to fight to the last Palestinian to insure it doesn't. It's an open question if the wishes of the tired Palestinians can win out over those who will never make peace, both within their ranks and coming from Syria and Iran - neither of whom has ever recognized the country they call "the Zionist entity".

Your ideas - which as far as anyone can tell, involve endless Israeli concessions to Palestinian terrorism - would destroy Israel. Would you even say "sorry" after it was gone?
