Isn't it also true that alcohol fuzzies up your judgment, so you are not so aware of danger and may not realize you are freezing to death until it is too late? Do people in Saskatchewan drink more in the winter when it is cold? I am guessing that once you are using alcohol to stay warm, it might also occur to you to use it to stay cool. Is there a warm summer month or two? There was an interesting show on PBS about modern pioneers in Canada that I think might have been filmed there. They were contemporary everyday people reenacting the lives of 19th century settlers. Did you see it? I thought it was very good. Life in the first world has gotten SO much easier in the last 100 years. Tell me about the cow? Did she and her calf make it?
