All I know about submarines, I saw in a Tom Clancy movie featuring Sean Connery. So I'll assume I'm missing a lot about real-world "Way Things Actually Work". If I'm not "missing the boat", so to speak, it would be interesting for many of us unexperienced to learn some details from those who know a bit more. Why might the forward sonar not be used, or "missed it"?
