I'm still perched here above the Hudson River. Soon will be 3 years!

Been working hard preparing my Introductory Economics Class. Tuesday's installment looks at the business cycle, looks at the reasons for the 2001 US recession etc. Now I have to get to work on Friday - the basic Keynesian model and fiscal policy.

I only do long-term investment now - I don't have time for trading, but keep an eye on the market direction. Been doing pretty well as most of my money is still in Australia and moderate gearing.

I'm wondering where to put my next batch of savings. Seems harder for me to find opportunities here than when I lived in Australia. I just came across these Superfund Managed Futures things. I'm skeptical though, the fees are high and the Sharpe ratio is low so maybe just luck that they have done well up till now?

Also just did my US tax return. Even though Australia theoretically has high marginal rates at low incomes the US system is far more frustrating in terms of looking for cool and easy tax breaks and even understanding any of the myriad documentation.

Sorry I'm not often here. Been wasting time on www.chronicle.com instead. My most recent name was "spongetroll".
