Gus > I can't find that Chapter VI!!!!! Please, help me....

Sorry, no can do but I've found something much more to the point -- the REAL cause of the earthquake and the tsunami -- homosexuality and fornication.

freerepublic.com

>>A Muslim Saudi professor says the earthquake and tsunami in south Asia were punishment from Allah for homosexuality and fornication committed by residents and visitors of affected countries at Christmastime.

A television interview of Sheik Fawzan Al-Fawzan, a professor at the Al-Imam University, was translated and posted on the Internet by the Middle East Media Research Institute TV Monitor Project, or MEMRI TV. The interview can be viewed on MEMRI's website.

These great tragedies and collective punishments that are wiping out villages, towns, cities and even entire countries, are Allah's punishments of the people of these countries, even if they are Muslims," stated Al-Fawzan. "Some of our forefathers said that if there is usury and fornication in a certain village, Allah permits its destruction."

The professor singled out beach resorts as places of sexual sin.

"We know that at these resorts, which unfortunately exist in Islamic and other countries in south Asia, and especially at Christmas, fornication and sexual perversion of all kinds are rampant," he said. "The fact that it happened at this particular time is a sign from Allah. It happened at Christmas, when fornicators and corrupt people from all over the world come to commit fornication and sexual perversion.

That's when this tragedy took place, striking them all and destroyed everything. It turned the land into wasteland, where only the cries of the ravens are heard. I say this is a great sign and punishment on which Muslims should reflect."

Al-Fawzan urged Muslims to atone for their sin.

"All that's left for us to do is to ask for forgiveness We must atone for our sins and for the acts of the stupid people among us and improve our condition. We must fight fornication, homosexuality, usury, fight the corruption on the face of the earth, and the disregard of the lives of protected people."<<

And others are also asking questions:

thejourney.typepad.com

>>Why did God allow this to happen?

Did God cause the tsunami and/or earthquake?

Did the people die because "it was their time to go?"

Did the people die because "God needed them in heaven?"

Was it God's will for all these people to die?

Did God know in advance when & how this tragedy would occur (were these people predestined to die in this way)?

Why didn't God intervene? Can't an all-powerful, loving God keep things like this from happening?

And, of course, the survivors might be asking, "Why me? Why my family? Why now?"

"What did we do to deserve this?"

"Why did my son have to die; why didn't God take me instead?"

"Why is God mad at me, turning his back on me, trying to punish me?"<<

The answer to all the questions is the same -- homosexuality and fornication.

I was just discussing such a scenario with someone last night, that there was a possibility that the tsunami was triggered by some sort of man-made device that perhaps unintentionally triggered a massive earthquake, much larger than expected (or perhaps not?).

Now, before the skeptics and rationalists jump all over me for saying such an outlandish thing, I want to say that I wasn't buying into what the guy was saying. But, it is something worth pondering, mainly because the fault in question was so inactive that even scientists were puzzled by the sudden quake and its massive size.

Now, a number of questions have to be raised to even consider this scenario... Is it literally possible that a manmade device like a nuclear bomb could trigger a massive earthquake? If yes, can it be done without being detected? Perhaps it is possible with the proper placement of explosives, it's certainly not that hard to imagine that a potentially unstable earth formation can be made even more unstable with carefully placed explosives to trigger a runaway reaction like an earthquake. But, can enough force be delivered to produce a reaction, without being detected?!? I doubt it. I mean seismographs would have detected the trigger explosion and there would be major questions be raised about the data after the quake. Also, I assume if it was a nuclear device, that radiation detectors would now be detecting the fallout.

So, it is interesting to ponder, but I wonder how plausible it really is?
