You are doing a very poor job of backing your claims except with anecdotal "evidence".

No company I know of or have ever worked for would expect a person who had a hip replacement to be back in a week. Sick time is highly variable and generally depends on (primarily) length of service, union contract provisions if unionized, and position in the company. Which doesn't necessarily mean a higher position will help you- -it may hurt you.

But at 8 months, suspicion of malingering should arise unless medical necessity can be demonstrated.
