If you can afford to. Sounds like you favor the same system you find fault with in the US- -a money-driven one.

We as Canadians are all covered and if it is emergent you will be treated quickly.
American ERs are required to treat anyone in serious trouble who walks through the door regardless of ability ro pay. What's the difference?

America has millions of people with 0 insurance, millions more with very limited coverage.
And America has far more millions with good coverage.
