The biggest problem in Canada appears to be that they ration health care. It is not from the desire to prevent people from being well. The ration is due to the simple supply and demand curve. When The price for medical doctors is low the demand is high. Low wages for medical providers causes constricted supply. Infinite demand with low supply and a fixed price implies shortages. This is what Canada is experiencing.

Anyone who took Economics 101 understands the problem. You didn't even have to pass the course to understand enough to diagnose Canada's problem. Price controls did not work for Nixon, they are not working for Canada.

And 95% of those Canadians live with 50 miles of the US border, so they are HARDLY as spread of as you imply.

Ninety-five percent of Canada’s population lives within 50 miles of the U.S. border

That means 33.25M are in that 50-mile strip and only 1.75M further away.

Also, Canada is the 2nd largest country on earth. It's natural resources have to be awesome. You should be richer than the Saudis ever dreamed of.
