Russia has a very nasty birth rate problem - not enough Russians - especially white, Russian Orthodox people having kids. Lots of emigration to US, Europe, Israel, etc.

The people who leave then have kids somewhere else.

Now many people in Russia have friends and possibly relatives somewhere else. That makes it much, much easier to leave if (or when) times get tough.

If you think your kids are going to be drafted to fight against the Muslims in one of the on going wars, moving away looks better and better.

Many Russians are well educated - even a Russian High School grad ususally has had 1 1/2 years of calculus, plus languages, physics, chemistry, geometry, algebra, etc.

This means the are more likely to pass various qualification screens that countries use to select useful immigrants.

This also makes it easier for them to leave.

They also have some REALLY good looking tennis players who qualify for the special H1-B (h) "hottie" visa.
