It was OK for female to make it during 1950 and 1980, but after this free market economy thing, female are now openly discriminated in China. Not to say that the US has no gender discrimination, but not as open as China now. Do you know Andy Xie is actually a native of Shanghai? and left Shanghai in 1983, and got a master degree in civil engineering from MIT in 1987...
