Energy Dept trims Q1 oil price, '05 world demand view SAN FRANCISCO (AFX) -- West Texas Intermediate crude-oil prices are expected to average $43 a barrel in the first quarter of 2005, up $8 from a year ago, but $3 below last month's estimate for the period, according to the Energy Department's monthly Short-term Energy Outlook Report Tuesday. The report also said world petroleum demand growth will average 2.1 million barrels per day in 2005, down from 2.6 million in 2004. U.S. petroleum demand will average 20.9 million barrels per day this year, up 2 percent from 2004, the report said
