Troop strength is a real issue. I don't think anyone can be serious about Syria

The US doesn't want to topple Assad and occupy Damascus. They want to cripple the insurgency HQ in Syria, and for that the issue is not troop strength, but intelligence.

When I heard they were going to have 7000 troops out for the inauguration, I thought, what are they going to do, give a week leave to 7,000 in Iraq so they could come home and guard King George?
