Bought some IBM on an earnings play. The dollar FX change vs. the Euro was nearly 9% for the quarter alone. Earnings release are 1-18-05. The estimate is $1.75 per share. Based on the updated earnings revision dates on IBES I do not believe the analysts forecasted the ending exchange rates for the quarter correctly since there was plenty of devaluation in the last couple of weeks of December. JMVHO.
