Seems reasonable. Some shorts should take profits (and thus create buying pressure), and there's a ton of shorts (58% of float).

But, except for situations like this where there is a lot of short interest, I am usually reluctant to take significant long positions in dead money stocks, particularly if they are at the beginning of their trip south for the winter.

Might want to keep position size small on the long side with a fairly tight stop, but take a larger position with a looser stop if it rallies into resistance and you take a short position.
