<rant/on>I detest Whole Foods. My name for it is "Whole Wallet."

Its prepared stuff--soups, salads, meats, other dishes, etc.,--is terrible. Many time inedible. Its wine selection is quite limited though good but overpriced. Meats and fish are good but overpriced. I can buy organic dairy products elsewhere a lot cheaper. Searched for coarse ground pepper the other day, presumably a staple in its well-stocked condiments section without success. Coarse ground black pepper, not some exotic thing [of which there were many, with prices to match], for crying out loud!

And the hipper-than-thou attitude of the people who work there, OMG. To be sneered at by some idjit with a nose ring and tattoos is just too much for me to take, not to mention the Hepatitis C risk these dummies spread around.

There are way too many Mom and Pop and larger shops around here where I can get wine, meat, dairy products, and fish substantially cheaper and not have to go through the expense and the psychic abuse of the oh-so-hip/pierced/tattooed help.

A stock to short in the long run. People will get sick of the prices and the pretense, though I certainly admit the possibility that my experience, which is shared with lots of fellow travelers, might be entirely local.<rant/off>
