Footnote: I did a politically incorrect speech converter that produced hilarious output based upon a plaintext input (I am so ashamed). It was good fun to take the bosses' memos or company press releases and run it through my program. Ah, the lost days of youth. That was almost 20 years ago. Given a budget I could produce a pretty good 'bot.

Oh, you mean like 'American Spirit'?

BTW, how does one program a bot to have such a bizarre "persona". I can see how programming him to make so many factual errors was probably fairly easy, but it's behavior was rather strange and irrational for a virtual machine.
