<I favor a United States of the World, but will not hold my breath until it comes>

Okay, we agree. Now we are just dickering over the pay rates, details on rules and the name. NUN, US of World, a rose by any other name would smell as sweet.

Bear in mind that it won't just "come along". It will need to be created out of thin air, just as the USA was founded out of thin air by Jefferson and co and those Federal Papers thingies [copied in part though they were by other ideas that the founders had adopted from other places].

Somebody has to have the imagination and energy and gumption to make it happen, attract the followers and do it. Which perhaps first means creating the public attitude that while the UN isn't perfect, it's the right sort of idea. So let's revamp it, and make it work right to do the required job. Which is NOT to busy-body around playing Nanny to us all, running the details of our lives. As soon as the megalomaniacs get wind of it, they'll take it over, if they can, and start telling us how to brush our teeth. That's what must be guarded against in the constitution. Tightly circumscribed powers are needed.
