Cuba vs. the United States on Infant Mortality

This provides a good explination of why the US has a surprisingly high infant mortality rate compared to other rich countries or even compared to Cuba.

I don't believe that the US is the only country in the world to provide "severe medical intervention" for preemies. Our health system is good only for the people who can afford it. The fact that 40 million people in this country do not have health coverage is why we have one of the shortest life spans for a developed nation.
