All the public needed was a way to vote themselves all the money and Bush was it.

At some point the country will elect the former CEO of some Multi-level Marketing corp. He will fix SS by turning it into a pyramid scheme. We'll all be rich <g>

Short term yes... long term all the imbalances are going to come back to haunt us, in spades.

Polls consistently show that the majority favor higher taxes if they lead to lower deficits. Even as the ultimate cynic you have to admit there is some altruism in society.
