One problem with corporate malfeasance is that sometimes it just does not present itself to the person doing it as dishonesty. I have never forgotten how when I was in college I talked my fraternity into giving me $40 to buy some much-used audio equipment from me. The same equipment could have been bought brand new for $50. To me, it just seemed like a very good idea. I really needed that $40. It would have been better for the fraternity to have the brand new stuff.

If everyone who has done something similar to what Martha Stewart did had to go to jail, country club memberships would suffer.
