Reg. Stem there is now a new support and resistance level established. Many are viewing this as a trading stock.

I took a day off from the market and had some time to reflect on the medical arena.

These are my thoughts not necessarily an opinion---------am doing some brain storming now on this.

First, most medicines are not without side effects----we are hearing the horrors of many drugs with major side effects that must be dealt with on a daily basis. We have just been through one of the longest period that I can remember in America in which we have had major portions of Americans on
antidepressants that cause significant side effects----headaches, nausea, gut reactions, muscular etc. Sometimes the side effects become "tolerable"----in other words, people accept the side effects rather than continue with the full blown depressions.

Recently, we have had vioxx taken off of the market and celebrex being scrutinized ------we are now back to a simple aspirin for many if one is not allergic to aspirin and can handle the effects of aspirin on the stomach that some have.

Then we have ISIS and the other anti-sense experiments. We have yet to know if these theories will be sucessful.

Finally, I do think we are onto something with the genetics and stem cell research. HGSI was part of the gene mapping that was done in the 1990's----plus others. Genes have been found for some of the major diseases-----and may be markers for a person getting that disease, not that they will have the
disease.

So my uneducated, intuitive guess is that stem cell research and application along with the genetics will be a large part of the answer to illness and disease.

If I were advising my daughter, a young person, I would tell her to buy some of the following and put them away for the future ---and go on about her day to day work:

ASTM (NASDAQ SC)
GERN (NASDAQ NM)
STEM (NASDAQ SC)
UBDF (OTCBB)

For we who are a little older-----the main answer is trading these stocks. And, that I am not truly good in----I did very well on Stem and sold on the first major excursion into the 4 area. It now seems that those 4's are becoming the support and the 5's to 6's the resistance. (However, I bought it low not anticipating an early chance to make money in it.)

I haven't gone back in----I am going to take a very close look at each of the ones above and decide whether or not I want to put a little in each rather than one stock only.

There is an article that has just come out regarding stem cell research that I will find and post a link to-----it appears that there is now some sort of cooperation beginning for sharing of info on stem research between the companies and researchers----this could speedup the process of bringing stem cell applications into reality.

I am presuming that you are still in or have gone back into STEM----yes? No?
