Loyalty--joking aside, I think it depends on whether the album is pirated or not. If they are not (most of albums sold in China are not pirated, believe it or not<g>), then those musicians are definitely paid for loyalties. And now the gov. cracks down piracy pretty hard. And many singers from Taiwan and HK have made millions from Mainland.

Last year, some Chinese posted a list of those Taiwanese performers who support Chen for Taiwan independence, and then none of them dare to appear in Chen's inauguration ceremony, because they do not want to lose their big and major income from China.
