Back from the Land of the Pure

Came back from Pakistan on Sunday... What a proud Islamic nation and as always I am stunned by the progress we have made as a country, Pakistanis are truly an impressive people if I may not say so.

This is good of course. We Pakistanis are pure and simple Hindo-philes, frankly I haven't seen any of the anti-India bigotry that you read about. Most Pakistanis are deeply enthusiastic about our Hindustani neighbours, not least because of Bollywood (I myself got hooked into it) and peace in our lifetime is more than a dream.

Courtesy of Niraj I read these series of articles (I'm linking the third part so the reader can click back to the first and second parts) on Azad Kashmir (or the uglier term Pakistan occupied Kashmir) by an Indian Muslim journalist. I agree with PresGen Mushie in that every region and sub-region of Kashmir should be given the right to decide it's own future, from Buddhist Ladakh to Shi'ite Gilgit and Hindu Udamphur. Of course I have to add that as a patriotic Pakistani I cannot bear to see any other outcome other than every Muslim region of Kashmir peacefully acceding to Pakistan as a result of the plebiscite. I was even getting riled up when being told in Islamabad by the former Sec. of Azad Kashmir (who was a Kashmiri from Srinagir but a co-religionist) that all Kashmiris should create an independent state. I was stunned by the hypocrisy of the argument that a Balti, who is supposedly being oppressed by the Pak-Punjabi establishment, should exchange that for being under the yoke of those cunning Sunni Muslims of the Vale of Kashmir.

But anyway I don't blame India in fact

JAI HIND

It's a beautiful country and my first post-Pakistan post is dedicated to eternal friendship to those feisty two siblings, India and Pakistan.
