"Science fills the cracks in gods, or conversely, God fills the cracks in science."

Right. If you don't want to be wholistic about it, this is another way to look at it.

"God will use clay because they don't know about DNA. Et cetera.

The terminology is pretty much not time limited. The terms work in any time period and for all education levels. For all we know DNA may be obsolete as a practical term in a few of centuries. There is a great deal of science that has come directly from text in the Quran or at least that is confirmed by it (finger prints, fetal development, time concepts, etc.). That continues to be the case and no scientific discoveries contradict the text. Considering Mohammad was an illiterate desert dweller, the book is noteworthy. I don't really look at scientific discoveries as human creations. I prefer to look at it as discovering what always has been known, at some level ... That is me calling my part of my ignorance ... science/knowledge awaiting discovery.
