There was no relevant data presented in the article you posted. Only speculation based on correlation, not shown to be causative. OTOH, this "opinion piece" clearly shows an intuitive connection. It stands to reason that if you attempt heroic measures to save more babies you're going to lose more. The fact that you won't admit your error simply makes YOU look more foolish.
