[Indian Middleman<g>]--Infosys to hire 2000 people in China in 24 months: Official:

[Business India]: Bangalore, Jan 12 : Infosys Techologies (Shanghai) Company Ltd, the wholly-owned subsidiary of software major Infosys, will hire over 2,000 professionals in the next 18 to 24 months, a top official said today.

Infosys Shanghai CEO James Lin told an investors conference here that the Chinese operations, located at Shanghai will add 2,000 people in the next two years from the present 125 software professionals.

Infosys has committed investments of USD five million for the Chinese operations which began in October 2003.

Infosys officials also said that they would hire nearly 500 professionals at Infosys Consulting, the US-based consulting division of the Nasdaq-listed software powerhouse. PTI
