Rogers is a sharp fellow but it is tough to follow some of his reco's. He likes to go to developing countries ("Investment Biker") and buy stocks there on their exchanges.

I am waiting for his new book to be returned to my library (I have so many 1000's of books that I am reluctant to buy any more unless I know I'll read them more than once!).

You can't argue with success and credentials; Rogers was Soros' partner for years and made $$$$$.

I like the idea of the energy/commodities portfolio but I guess it will just have to be a list in a msg as SI doesn't seem to have that feature back yet.

re: AEI.V Arsenal Energy - C$0.94

this is a small O&G Canadian company with I think a promising future

Arsenal Energy - www.aren.ca - Ticker: AEI.V traded on the TSXV- C$0.90 20m shares out (fully diluted) - make the marketcap a meager US$15m the company did a small secondary in the fall of 2004 to purchase Nahanni Oil, another small producer active in Sasketchuan..

The CEO Michael Vandale was formerly with True Energy where he grew the company nicely but relied to heavily on debt. Well I guess he doesn't want to repeat this since Arsenal has less than C$2m in debt now but is producing almost 1000bopd mostly light oil and gas - all for a marketcap of $15m and an EV of around $16m

Active in Sasketchuan and North Dakota, the company grew by accretive acquisitions and thru the drill bit. Recnetly they drilled 6 wells - 2 of them and a workover brought more than 260 boe/d onstream : biz.yahoo.com - after this drill-bit success Arsenal is now boasting production of 920boepd

Unlike many US tinycaps, this comapny's land acreage appears to be way more prolific - Sasketchuan is not so much "overdrilled" than many Texan areas it seems.. Their wells seems to get around 100bopd on primary recovery (without any waterflood) and the Bakken oil pools they also have in their drilling inventory to test are usually substantial in reserves. 3 more wells out of the 6 drilled are soon to be completed and tested. The company is about to issue a company PR. A respected canadian O&G financeer brought this comapny to my attention..

1000bopd for US$15m marketcap with the potential to double over 2005 was something I couldn't let pass by.. Reminds me of Amex: ARD (Arena Resources, MArketcap $100m). Reserves are of course lower but production is similar (around 1000bopd) and the strategy is similar as well - behind the pipe opportunities, no waterflood yet on any property acquired etc.. so there seems to be considerable upside to the production figurees IMHO
