re: I don't buy that. Most companies, under pressure from a competitor, try to get mean and lean. Building extra capacity is the opposite. I think this might be one of those special cases. Intel does not have a real real real competitor yet. What Intel is trying to do is to prevent AMD from becoming that real competitor. Re: There is another reason for Intel's extra capacity, and that is the failure of Itanium, I do not think so, intel was building a lot over the past few years and most of it was not for Itanium. -AK
