The assessment is that global risks are rising again - that assessment from the head of the Federal Reserve's bank in New York:

It's worth considering: The market this week is looking to turn in a tepid performance, with a lot of skeptics, including me, reminding the bulls to ask "What is the January Effect?" The market closed last week at about 10,603 on the Dow, if I remember correctly. This means that barring a 100-point rally today, the market will finish with a big loss for the week. Maybe the NY Fed Head isn't the only one seeing global systemic risk?

In a report out this morning, the wholesale price picture dramatically improved with an actual decline of 0.7% for the latest reporting month:
