I plan to sell my yahoo long postion after they report next week. I have held them for around 4 or 5 years - a bunch that I picked around $10 split adjusted basis.

should have waited to put it on until next week, after ebay and yhoo report

my attitude is to just gradually ease into it. i didn't short at all last year (fortunately), after having done poorly at it in 2003, which cost me around 2% of portfolio that year.

it's unfortunate that you can't short in an IRA, but i guess that's why God invented single stock futures -g-.

anybody know about the liquidity of those things, and how attractive they are vs. shorting straight equities?
