secinfo.com Nine Muses Entertainment In Final Negotiations To Merge With Texas Indie Filmworks HOUSTON, Aug 6, 2004 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Merger Designed to Increase Revenue and Ability to Market, Screen and Distribute Films Nine Muses Entertainment, Inc. (Pink Sheets:CSDN) of Houston, TX is pleased to announce they are in final negotiations to merge with Texas Indie Filmworks, Inc. Texas Indie Filmworks, Inc. is a feature film distribution company based in Houston, Texas. It selects independent film and television projects at the stage where the principal photography and some of the post production work are finished. They then negotiate with the film maker(s) and production companies to complete, market, screen and distribute the films. Through it's channels, Texas Filmworks negotiates and contracts distribution either nationally, internationally, in all media and markets, including without limitation, home video and DVD, Cable TV market, Pay TV market, syndication markets, Pay-per-view market, Broadcast and Digital broadcast services, Network deals, and the licensing and merchandising of ancillary products associated with the production, if any. While most films submitted to Texas Filmworks are rejected due to quality or lack of commercial appeal, a select few are accepted after being analyzed by our team of experts. We look for entertainment value, production quality, good stories, and superb acting. On average, an assessment is made within 48 hours of viewing the existing footage. The actual process of preparing and marketing each motion picture begins immediately. Texas Filmworks looks for five key ingredients to make a project successful: - Excellent scripts.
- Productions company whose key personnel think "outside the box."
- An innovative marketing plan that greatly enhances the possibility of success. - Innovative ideas that slash production costs.
- Meticulous planning.
- A healthy dose of hard work.
The independent film market, meaning films funded independent of studio financing, is enjoying an unprecedented success level. Witness the astronomical success of "My Big Fat Greek Wedding," a small independent film with only minor television names to carry it, was produced for $5 million. The International Movie Data Base currently lists the USA theatrical gross at $241,437,427.00 Note that this figure was on April 4, 2003. According to a recent issue of the Hollywood Reporter, annual theatrical film box office in the United States posted a new high for the tenth consecutive year. In July Cross Street Distribution now known as Nine Muses Entertainment acquired TX Casting. This acquisition is part of CSDN's plan of being an all-in-one entertainment service provider.
