Let's be completely brutal about this. In America, we have a controlled media. Amy Goodman, of Pacifica Network's Democracy NOW! asks rhetorically, "if we had state media in the U.S., how would it look any different?" And we have the former publisher of the Washington Post telling us that she hid the truth: "There are some things the general public does not need to know and shouldn't. I believe democracy flourishes when the government can take legitimate steps to keep its secrets and when the press can decide whether to print what it knows." —Katharine Graham, chairman of the board, The Washington Post Company (inherited after her husband Philip "murdered himself") *** So what am I doing about it? In yesterday's mail, I received a DVD of the address by Dr. David Ray Griffin to a large and enthusiastic audience in Santa Rosa, CA in October, 2004. The topic that Dr. Griffin discussed was the "Omissions and Distortions" of the Kean-Zelikow 9/11 Commission Report. Copies of this nicely edited DVD are available for $20 from a videographer and friend of mine named Ken Jenkins. Here is a copy of Ken's message about this now DVD: <COPY> I have just finished my edit of the rare talk David Ray Griffin (The New Pearl Harbor) gave last October in Santa Rosa. He titled his presentation "Truth and Politics" and the theme was the same as his new book: "The 9/11 Commission Report: Omissions and Distortions". The book and video are a response to the government's book "The 9/11 Commission Report". The one hour edit combines 5 camera angles with 140 graphics and video clips. As a bonus I added a 40 minute interview David gave by phone with INN in May of 2004. The video part was not broadcast live, but there were cameras at both ends and I edited them together as if it was originally shot with live video as well as live audio. The front cover of the DVD is attached. I can also make VHS copies if needed, but prefer to make DVD's. The DVD (or VHS) is $20 plus $3 for shipping. Send a check to made to "LightWork" to: Ken Jenkins 312 A Auburn St. San Rafael, CA 94901 <END COPY> *** Today, I'm on my way over to a friend's house. He has a copy of a documentary film called "Inside Iraq" that was shot recently by a Portland filmmaker who was not only unembedded, but also completely unacknowledged or censored by the U.S. government. This is another way that we are becoming our own media. I'll let you know about ordering details when they are available to me. -Ray
