AHA! There you go, zofsilence. Now I feel like we're discussing the real issue. Actually, I think we can NOT afford it right now. The way for us to afford it would be to repeal tax cuts to the rich, pull our troops back home after the Iraqi elections, and repeal that horrible Medicare plan Bush signed.

However, my thought is that Bush usually gets what he wants. So if his track record holds, we're likely to get social security reform. So if we're going to get it, I'd like to see it be something sane. More of the same is not sane to me. Instead, I'd like to see a change that will actually benefit my children, not one that I think will result in a reduction of their overall benefits.
