The view you posted is essentially the position of the Catholic Church. As reflected in seminary teaching, virtually all of modern science is accepted as valid including evolution and natural selection. The Church reserves a small number of provinces as being those of God, such as imbuing humans with a soul.

The divide between scientists and "creationists" is not nearly so wide as a lot of people imagine.
