Various people on this thread that bashed Bush's earlier performance in Iraq but voted for him anyway, and now hope for different results following the Iraqi elections are in for a big surprise.

For the first time, Bush said he will not press senators to pass a constitutional amendment banning same-sex marriage, the top priority for many social conservative groups.

That was all a very clever political gambit. Along with the state initiatives banning same sex marriages.

At least in America, we know that the blame stops with the voters. A good stare in the mirror is a useful thing!

"Accountability moment has passed", now the mad man thinks he is accountable to no one, but then I guess he has always thought that. Kind of like when he said the president didn't have to explain himself to anyone, but everyone had to explain themselves to the president; or something to that effect.

Hi cnyndwllr; Re: "Hi Bilow, I wouldn't want you to feel that Bush mis misinterpreted your vote."

If I'd voted for Kerry and he'd won the election, he'd be out there misinterpreting my vote to just exactly the same extent. This is what politicians do.
