The strength in the yen probably reflects (at least in part) the expectation that China will revalue the yuan before long.

What if its not true? What if we have a hard landing of our own in the US first, and Asian stocks and currencies continue to advance?...Finally, the fact that gold has not really stepped in, right here, to take more of the dollar's adjustment suggests a real problem to me--about Gold

I just searched for it unsuccessfully, but Jay Chen just commented that both he and Marc Faber think Asia will do okay without the US. and if the dollar continues down against the asian currencies, it should be reflected in gold. further, the asians value gold, and if they move away from the dollar, gold at worst should stay even in all currencies.
