I think you are overlooking how much "faith" is required to believe in the theory of evolution. Darwin expressed hope that transitional fossils (indisputable and unambiguous) would eventually be found. They simply have not been.

We have seen here attempts to explain why, including your disco-club analogy of the fossil record, as well as the backing-off from gradualism to abruptness.

This is all fine, and one day we may have the answers and the evidence.

But right now believing in evolution is an act of faith. Much like, well, religion.
