That's just the thing, Alighieri, you are making investment decisions for everyone else, and that is not fair.

That's the way a society works mindmeld. The greater good sometimes takes precedence over individual choice.

>You and others decry Republicans for trying to legislate decisions that will impede your personal choices such as gay marriage and abortion. Yet, when Republicans want to give you more choice on your retirement, you won't let them. Very odd.

The first two have to do with religion, and the third has to do with finance. Big difference.

You and others decry Republicans for trying to legislate decisions that will impede your personal choices such as gay marriage and abortion.

How does abortion or gay marriage impede people's personal choices? The truth is that they both expand personal choices for people instead of impeding them. However, the right's issue with both is morality......a morality standard created and promulgated by the right.

That is not what's happening with SS. Its not an issue of morality but rather non proponents are saying SS ain't broke so leave it alone. They are not buying the argument that there will be a problem down the road. SS reformists my be right in their position..........I don't know but the argument is not analogous to the arguments erupting over abortion and gay marriage.
